| Appearance | She's a Siamese cat, with her sleek cream coat and chcolate-black tips. Her eyes are sky-ice blue, with a pretty gleam that reflects even the weakest light. Her pelt is glossy, too, and can slightly reflect water, so her pelt doesn't get as wet as most others'. Her tail is long and thin.
| Beliefs | Labyr has never doubted StarClan since she'd learned about them. She doesn't like when other cats don't believe, for in her thoughts, she thinks that if StarClan didn't exist, nobody here would, either. She tries to seek out answers from them, but knows even they don't know everything.
| History | Labyrinth was born in a small dip in the ground, with her mother, Zephyr. Labyrinth was first named Glint at birth, after her shining optimism and sleek coat. Her father, who never had a name and never got one, was killed the day before Glint was born. This took Zephyr into a deep depression, and she lost all joy, happiness sucked from her. This drove her to suicide, leaving Glint all alone in the pit, only at three moons. She cried a lot, but hunger along with curiosity drove her from the walls of the pit. But the walls were too steep to climb. She thought for a while, sobbing, until she decided her only hope was to dig. After hours, a tunnel was made by a 3 moons old kit. She got out of the pit, and curiously looked around, searching for her mother. But all she found was a meadow. There, she slept, will starved. The next day, she found a scrawny rabbit with its paw stuck in a small hole. Glint killed it, and ate it. After that, she knew she couldn't go on. She must find a foster family. But as she searched, she got hungry. But there was no prey, and she couldn't hunt. Finally, she fainted smack in the middle of the immense meadow.
That was the last thing she remembered, before finding herself in a small, yet warm den, laying at a large ginger cat's side. "Dear, have you awoken? Do you feel okay? Oh, you must be hungry!" she fussed, getting up, with soft amber eyes facing the kit. She went outside, and came back a few minutes later with a plump hare in her jaws. She put the prey down towards Glint. Then, she began to tell Glint how her name was Speckle, how her mate had been taken my twolegs, how her kits had been attacked by a fox, and finally, how she found Glint fainted in the meadow. Now, Glint had a mother... But Speckle would have to leave her one day. But for now, Glint was only happy, and lay down, purring, at her new mother's den.
It had been three moons since Glint had arrived. She had stopped suckling, and now ate only raw meat. But now, Speckle arrived, telling Glint it was time for her to begin to be a real cat. Today, she was to begin her training. Glint knew it would be hard, but she nodded, taking in a great challenge, but a challenge that could kill her if she ignored it, but if she worked hard to beat, would gain her survival.
"Glint," Speckle murmured to her now fully grown kit. She was twelve moons old now, and usually time to send her away. She had learned to hunt, and proven that her combat was unique and different, but very advanced. She nearly beat Speckle once, but by far her love of water was strange, but let her become a very good swimmer, as a gifted quality to help her in life with water on her side. She was now ready to leave. "Glint... I remember when I first found you... Now you're so big, and you can hunt, run, fight, and even swim! You're a very good cat, dear! I'm sure you'll grow up to be something great, but now..." She took a deep breath, with glimmering tears running down her face, "You must leave... Remember, I love you, and have hope and faith that you will be a hero, to not necessarily the whole world, but maybe even one cat. But, of course, you've already become a hero to me... Goodbye, my sweet one, I promise to remember you... Forever."
"Fox dung!" Glint swore as she felt a thorn stab her pad. She quickly pulled out the thorn and jumped in a river to cool her swelling paw and wash the blood off. A few minutes later, she hopped out of the water, with not only a healing paw but a fish in her mouth. She devoured the prey, and then continued walking. But a cat interrupted her thoughts. He was a Toyger cat, and big for the matter! He was huge, and muscles rippled under his dark fur. A spicy yet sweet fragrance came from him, and his golden brown eyes seemed to glaze right through the setting sun he ran towards. Glint set off at top speed towards him.
When she reached him, he turned back to the panting she-cat with him eyes blazing, alert for a threat. He asked her who she was and why she was here, and Glint told him about her past, ending with her name.
“Well then,” the Toyger said, “My name is Zapbolt, Zap for short. You say you’re looking for someone to stay with, a big family? Have you ever heard of the Clans?”
“The Clans… I am part of BoltClan. We’re separated from the rest, we live as one big Clan in this meadow, which if you follow for a very long time will lead you to the others, eventually. The Clans fall by a long-ago made code, the Warriors Code. We all follow this code, and hunt for each other as one huge family. All different breeds, ages, and sizes. Nobody is left out, and the leader settles all things. But of course, life isn’t just dreams and rainbows. There’s work, like hunting, not just for you, but the whole Clan, and sometimes you must fight, embrace the weather, and more… Life in a Clan is the life for me… But do you think it’s for you?”
Glint blinked, and then let out a sigh. “Yes, Zap. I think it is.”
It was year later. Glint had learned the Clan and its ways, and was now Glintfrost. She was outside, with Zap, who was now her mate, coming back from hunting. They’d had a successful hunt; a blackbird, three mice and a nice rabbit. But what they saw was never to be expected. All cats were wounded, but what stood out were two small bodies that lay on the ground. It was Rubypaw and Glasspaw, Glint’s daughters.
“Zap…,” Glint murmured when they went together to get woods for repairs, “As long as I am here, I remember Ruby and Glass. Whenever I see a fox like the ones that invaded, I remember Ruby and Glass. Whenever I look at you, even, I see our daughters… I can’t stand it… I miss them too much… I can’t stay. Zap, I know you love me, but I also know that this is your home… So, I will live again… Maybe find a friend, but I think that… This isn’t my place. Zap, I love you, goodbye….”
Glint couldn’t stand it. She closed her tear-rimmed eyes, and turned, running away. She kept running, never looking back. But as soon as she was well away from BoltClan, she felt the ground go hollow beneath her. She tried to take a different path, but as she turned, the ground shoke beneath her, and sent her down into an underground tunnel. She looked up, but she couldn’t see anything but a hole of the sky clipped far over her. She was trapped in the tunnels under the meadow.
She had been underground for three moons. It wasn’t so bad, to Glint. It was never to be possible to know where the tunnels would take her, but Glint’s eyes could see in the dark as well as an owl, now. She knew how to dig up underground prey, and sometimes found rabbits and the occasional snake, that she loved. She now lived where the tunnels were good and wide, under a big lake. She got lonely, but she thought it was better than having to live in BoltClan with her wretched memory of Ruby and Glass, now Zap as well. This was her life, now. But the aching to find company became strong, and Glint couldn’t stand it. She began to dig. She quickly made the hole, and water began to leak. Soon pour, flooding the tunnels. But Glint didn’t mind, as she still liked water and knew how to swim. Once the hole was big enough, she jumped in it and began to swim to the surface. Gasping as she broke the water. She felt a small suction beneath her, from the tunnels pulling her. The tunnels are gone, Glint told herself, the labyrinth of the tunnels is gone. She felt the thought on her mind; one word made her feel as if she truly described the tunnels, and herself, in the same word: Labyrinth.
“Labyrinth! I am Labyrinth!” she screeched as she swam back to shore, her paws strongly beating the water out of her way and eyes adjusting to the light.
She lived in the forest ever since that day, but not in a Clan. Nobody was aware of her. She was looking at the Clans, how each one lived. She didn’t like most, but a Clan called StormClan seemed to be pretty good. They sometimes fished, and ate snakes mostly, like her. She decided to stay there for a moon or so, and then ask to join. She saw their habits, how they got around the landscape, hunting techniques, combat. She liked it. So, the last day of the moon, she entered their camp, and came in what she found out the leader, Risingstar, lived.
She told him all her past. Every detail. But not her name. She never said her name. At the end, she only said her true name; Labyrinth. Glint didn’t describe her. It didn’t suit her. Her name was Labyrinth, and that was it. The leader, after giving some thought, told her she must go through three moons of apprenticeship, and if she succeeded, she would be part of StormClan.
Labyrinthpaw trained hard. Harder than all the other apprentices. She hunted more than all, fought ferociously and even didn’t mind taking care of the elders. She enjoyed helping them, even if they were a bit gruff and rarely apologized. And so, she continued training, training for her goal; a part in StormClan.
“May all cats gather here under the Highbranch (a huge, fallen branch where meeting took place) for a Clan meeting!” Risingstar called, less bright than usual. There were rumors that Rising had greencough, and was on his last life. Labyr couldn’t stand the thought, ignoring it, for the sake of her leader’s health. But he definitely was less active, and coughing. A new, sour smell was in his den, that of sickness.
“We gather here to welcome a new warrior to StormClan. Labyrinthpaw, step forward,” he yowled, “Do you promise to be loyal to this Clan, hunt for us, and fight for us with your life, using every unique ability you own?”
“I do.”
“Then, Labyrinthpaw, we welcome you to StormClan as a full member. Your new name shall be Labyrinthtwist.”
Labyrinthtwist was now okay, a small part of her heart eased. She made almost no friends, nor enemies. She was always quiet and not very social, but the thought of being in any cat’s presence was better than the tunnels’ loneliness. But, she did border patrols, hunted and fought when it was needed as good as any other, probably better.
As Labyrinth came back from a solo border patrol, she saw almost the whole Clan gathered around a dead cat. Labyr fought her way through the crowd with shoves and urgent tail flicks, but when she saw what was going on, she nearly fainted. There he was; the deputy, Icefrost, dead with a body covered in deadly scars. Risingstar had bent down, whispering his blessing to the cat, and words to have a safe journey to StarClan. But when Risingstar was done, he too collapsed, gasping. It was true; he had greencough. And he was going to help Ice with her journey. Before Rising’s flanks came to a stop, he rasped out two words,
“Labyrinth… Leader.”
